Taking the First Step Toward Better Sexual Health

Start with confidence. Leave with renewed peace of mind.

Sexual health concerns are common, but that doesn’t make them any easier to discuss. Many men experience conditions that can affect their confidence, relationships, and overall quality of life. At Premier Urology, our experienced urologists provide compassionate, personalized care for erectile dysfunction, low testosterone, and Peyronie’s disease. We’ve helped thousands of men throughout the Southeast improve their sexual health, regain intimacy, and restore confidence.

Understanding Erectile Dysfunction

Erectile dysfunction (ED) is the persistent inability to achieve or maintain an erection firm enough for sexual activity. In many cases, ED develops when reduced blood flow to the penis is caused by narrowed or hardened blood vessels.

ED is more common than many men realize. In fact, approximately half of men in their 50s experience mild to moderate erectile dysfunction. At Premier Urology, we believe open communication is the first step toward effective treatment. Our Men’s Health program is designed to provide a comfortable environment where patients can discuss sensitive concerns and explore treatment options without embarrassment.

How Is Erectile Dysfunction Treated?

Your urologist will perform a thorough evaluation to determine the underlying cause of your erectile dysfunction before developing a treatment plan tailored to your needs. Depending on your diagnosis, treatment may include oral medications, testosterone replacement therapy, vacuum erection devices, or, in select cases, surgery.

Many men also benefit from healthy lifestyle changes, including:

  • Quitting tobacco use
  • Eating a balanced, nutritious diet
  • Exercising regularly
  • Achieving and maintaining a healthy weight
  • Managing diabetes, high blood pressure, and other chronic conditions
  • Testosterone replacement therapy for men with clinically low testosterone

For added convenience, Premier Urology offers an in-house dispensary where eligible patients can obtain affordable generic medications, including Viagra® and Cialis®.

Addressing Low Testosterone

Testosterone is a hormone produced primarily by the testicles. It plays an essential role in sperm production, sexual function, muscle development, bone strength, and overall energy levels.

Low testosterone can contribute to a variety of symptoms, including:

  • Reduced sex drive
  • Difficulty achieving or maintaining erections
  • Decreased semen volume
  • Hair thinning or loss
  • Ongoing fatigue
  • Increased body fat
  • Mood changes or irritability
  • Smaller testicle size

Research has also associated low testosterone with certain cardiovascular risk factors, including high blood pressure, blood clots, and abnormal heart rhythms.

How Is Low Testosterone Treated?

If testing confirms low testosterone, your urologist will recommend a personalized hormone replacement plan based on your symptoms, lifestyle, and health goals. Treatment options may include topical gels or creams, injectable therapy, or long-lasting subdermal pellets. Your provider may also recommend exercise and nutritional improvements to support your body’s natural hormone production.

Routine follow-up appointments are an important part of testosterone therapy. Regular monitoring allows your physician to evaluate hormone levels, assess your progress, and make adjustments that help you achieve the best possible results.

Managing Peyronie’s Disease

Peyronie’s disease is a noncancerous condition caused by the formation of scar tissue inside the penis, resulting in curved or painful erections. While the condition is not dangerous, it rarely resolves without treatment. For many men, symptoms remain stable or gradually worsen over time.

How Is Peyronie’s Disease Treated?

Treatment recommendations depend on the severity of your symptoms and how the condition affects your daily life. Your urologist may recommend one of the following approaches:

Observation: If the penile curvature is mild and sexual function is not significantly affected, careful monitoring may be appropriate. Should pain or worsening symptoms develop, additional treatment options can be explored.

Injections: Xiaflex® is an FDA-approved medication injected directly into the plaque within the penis. When combined with physician-guided stretching and modeling exercises, Xiaflex® can reduce curvature by breaking down scar tissue. Treatment typically consists of one to four cycles, each separated by approximately six weeks and including two injections.

Surgery: For men with more advanced symptoms, surgical treatment may be recommended. A penile implant can restore function while correcting curvature, and the procedure is typically completed on an outpatient basis in less than an hour.

You don’t have to continue living with painful erections, erectile dysfunction, or the physical and emotional effects of Peyronie’s disease. Premier Urology is here to help you find effective treatment and regain your confidence.
